A spa customer in central China has complained to police that her massage session was live-streamed to a half-naked man by mobile phone. The woman, surnamed Li, was naked from the waist up during a massage at the Xiyue Life Spa in Wuhan, Hubei province, on Monday when she found a mobile phone facing her on a table, Chutian Metropolis News reported.

She said the phone was in video chat mode and a man, who was naked from the waist up, was on the other end. Li grabbed the phone and then called the police. “Police collected evidence and found the video chat was started when I was having the spa. Officers were shocked that the video chat lasted 33.33 minutes. My spa had been live-streamed,” she wrote on customer review internet site Dianping.com.

Li said she was offered 20,000 yuan (US$2,900) to keep quiet about the situation, as the masseuse was under 16 and could not be held legally responsible for the intrusion. Angered by the way the spa handled the incident, Li decided to publish her account online. An executive of the spa, surnamed Chen, told the newspaper the masseuse was an intern and that the filming had been accidental.
